Local Charity Events Provide Wonderful Opportunities To Give And Support Their Causes

Start here

The Allen and North Texas communities have a great opportunity this Thursday, September 19th and Saturday, September 21st to give and participate in some wonderful charity events. Please see the details for each of the three (3) events below and I hope all of you will be able to participate in these great events for such special causes.

Thursday, September 19th will kick-off with North Texas Giving Day. From 7:00 AM until midnight donations can be made to support several Allen nonprofit organizations. The organizations that will benefit from this fundraising event include Allen Arts Alliance, Allen Community Outreach, Allen Parks Foundation, Connemara Conservancy Foundation, Foundation for Allen Schools and Foundation for Lovejoy Schools. All donations must be made online at DonorBridgeTX.org and can be made in any amount. However, all donations of $25 or more will qualify for bonus or partial matching funds! http://donorbridgetx.org/

Later that evening Carson’s Crusader’s Foundation will be hosting the 2nd annual Brighten the Night Wine Tasting and Live Auction, at the brand new Noah’s Event Center, The Village at Fairview. This event raises funds to provide assistance and support to children and their families that are battling solid tumor childhood cancers. The event will feature wine guru David Pennachetti who will be hosting the tasting and catering will be provided by Albert Segui of Cafe Malaga. More than 500 children in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are currently fighting some type of solid tumor cancer. The Carson’s Crusaders Foundation provides families of these children gas cards, hospital parking vouchers and other financial assistance to lessen some of the financial strain that come with transporting their children for treatment. They also provide support for the siblings of the cancer patients when they may feel isolated and lonely.

Carson’s Crusaders Foundation was established in memory of Carson Richardson who lost his battle with hepatoblastoma cancer in 2010 at the age of seven. During Carson’s three-and-half-year battle with cancer his family received many types of financial, emotional and spiritual support from friends and family and to honor Carson they formed the Carson’ Crusaders Foundation. http://carsonscrusadersfoundation.org/2013-brighten-the-night-home-page/

Saturday, September 21st the Allen Event Center will be hosting the 12th Annual Guns and Hoses Boxing Tournament. The event begins at 7:00 PM with the doors opening at 5:30 PM. Join them for a charity boxing match featuring North Texas’ finest police officers and firemen in friendly competition. All proceeds will directly benefit the Guns and Hoses Foundation of North Texas which was founded in 2002. This nonprofit foundation’s primary commitment is to provide support and financial assistance  to families of fallen firefighters and police officers who have lost their lives performing their duty. The organization also raises funds to benefit at-risk youth programs within our communities as well as donating funds to additional children’s charities within the North Texas area. The Guns and Hoses Foundation covers 16 counties in North Texas, which are served by over 23,000 police and firefighters. To date the organization has provided financial support to 28 families of fallen officers and firefighters. http://gunsandhosesnorthtx.org/ http://www.alleneventcenter.com/Calendar.aspx?EID=210&month=9&year=2013&day=21&calType=0

Once again, I hope that you participate with your attendance, donations and support of these great causes and organizations that assist North Texans in need. Enjoy and thank you for your caring and giving.
